The super cute shoes you need this summer.

Have you picked out a pair of espadrilles to add some summery kick to your warm weather wardrobe? If you haven’t you might need to add a pair to your summer shoe rotation. These shoes with woven jute or hemp heels add an instant summer style upgrade to any outfit. They are everywhere this summer and for good reason.

They’re lightweight comfortable, and lend a casual I’m-on-a-fabulous-vacation feel to your usual outfit. Espadrilles work with jeans, shorts and sundresses, giving everything a feel of laid back summer style. Try a pair instead of go-to sneakers or flip flops to add some vacay flair.

Here are 3 espadrilles that I’ve just added to my summer wardrobe. I chose espadrilles from Nordstrom with unusual colors and details to spice up my basics.

1. Steve Madden Ankle Tie Espadrille Sandal in Gold. Basic with some bling. Love the texture of sequins and jute together. And these shoes are comfortable. I could see a day of sightseeing all over town in these!

I just snagged the coral silk top from the sale rack at my local J. Crew. Here’s a similar one from J. Crew and it’s on sale too!  I added a turquoise blue belt (Nordstrom’s last season) to amp up the pastel hue.

Jeans are dark rinse skinny jeans from Paige. Love these jeans and have them in just about every rinse they make! Love me some Paige denim! They are expensive but totally worth it if you calculate how much wear you get from them.

 2. Halogen Sandra Wedge Espadrille in Turquoise.  Love the classic espadrille wedge shape with an unexpected pop of fun color. 

These fun and colorful wedges come in lots of colors (white, black, red, tan) but I chose the turquoise for the awesome color. I love having the comfort and stability of a wedge with a heel. For me, a heel just makes any outfit feel dressier. Halogen Sandra Wedge in turquoise from Nordstrom.

I wore these with a bold Splendid bone and black tee top on sale at Bloomingdales. Love the blocky graphic feel. It is sheer though so I usually wear a cami underneath it. Here’s the drapey luxe in a similar style, Splendid baseball tee style at Bloomingdales. 

3. Halogen Serene Crochet Lace Espadrille Slip On in Coral 

I bought these as a cute, just-throw-them-on shoe that could be a cuter alternative than throwing on my flip flops. I thought that the lace detail was so cute! They come in black and white but again, I wanted to add some sizzle so I chose the coral. (And think it will work well with all the dark clothes I have in my closet). You might have noticed a small dog in most of these pics. Yes, that’s my Chihuahua Custard who sneaks into every photo to be next to her Mommy. She’s my best friend and constant companion and always wants to be on or near me, so you’ll probably see her in more photos because, well, there’s no keeping her out of the shot!)
