How I found “new” clothes in my closet on Day 5 of My Style Challenge.
Wow, day 5 of no jeans or workout pants.
I have to admit this style challenge has been a pain in the butt. Having to actually get dressed and not just slide into the same pair of cat hair covered yoga pants or blown out jeans takes some planning.
This challenge has forced me to use what’s already in my closet, reach into the deep recesses and find new ways to wear dresses I’ve already got. (And the big fear; will they still fit?!)
Viereck Knit Dress
These knit dresses some in amazing colors and patterns, but what sets them apart is the fit. They are cut for actual women and not a Forever 21 wearing teenaged body.
Viereck knit dress.
I hadn’t worn this dress in a while, this jacket brought new life to this dress and reminded me why I loved it so much!
Sanctuary Safari Jacket
I paired my Viereck knit dress with the Sunset Safari jacket from Sanctuary for a monochrome look. This jacket is really comfortable and love this plum pop of color.
Melissa Platform Wedges
I paired the plum color with these platform wedges from Melissa. OMG have you tried Melissa shoes? They are a line of jelly shoes made in Brazil. Each shoe is crafted of canvas and plastic-and the shoes are scented! (Each shoe smells like bubble gum!) How fun is that?
Don’t let the platform scare you, these are incredibly comfortable. Melissa Patchuli wedge with the pink racing stripe.
Blue tassel necklace.
For jewelry, I chose my Baccarat blue tassel necklace. It is one of my treasures. (Similar style Baccarat necklace.)
Today’s outfit was a great exercise in using what you already have and giving it new life by mixing in something new.
Try your own dress challenge and let me know how you do!
