4 Super Stylish Wardrobe Pieces To Invest In This Fall

How to Integrate Some of the Season’s Best Trends Into Your Existing Wardrobe.

It’s my favorite time of the year. No, not Back to School season or Pumpkin Spiced Latte time (although those are pretty great too). No, my favorite time of the year is when fall fashion starts to appear. Cozy sweaters and knits and plush jackets are popping up online and in stores.

This season there are some trends that I’m so digging! Metallic details. Fringe. Statement jackets. A bit of rocker chic.

But how do you add a dash of the fun current trends without a) Looking like a over styled fashion victim. Or b) buying a whole new wardrobe?

Here’s how. Invest in a few key pieces.

Spend money on a few items that update the pieces you’ve already got hanging in your closet.

Here are the wardrobe pieces to invest in this fall. I’m adding these pieces to totally make my Fall fashion rock.

Here’s a wee little video all about this fall’s key pieces.

1. The Faux Shearling Vest.

I love the look of the shearling vest paired with jeans and this one is cute, flattering and animal friendly. This vest totally works. And I love the longer, more flattering length. I think its more slimming than a shorter vest that hits just below your waist.

I’m going to wear mine with boots worn over a turtleneck and distressed denims for a casual but totally stylish take.

(This shearling vest was just featured in Oprah magazine and Harper’s Bazaar this month, so I’m going to hop over and grab it now before it’s sold out.)

2. The Pretty Patterned Dress

I have a closet full of solid color dresses in a straight sheath cut. Can’t wait to try out this patterned swingy dress in a knit. I’ll pair with my tried and true black pumps. Perfect for church, school event or nice dinner out.  This dress also comes in a polka dot pattern, another fall trend that’s showing up everywhere. (How cute would this be with ankle boots and tights?)

3. The Statement Jacket

I love the trend of metallic details showing up this season. It gives an outfit a slightly rocker girl edge. I’m so into the dramatic look of this long sweater jacket with grommet details. It comes in this off white or a deep grey.

Pair over black skinny jeans and black ankle boots or one of those black dresses that I already have but need to breathe some fresh life into.

4. Fringed Cape/Scarf

Fringe is appearing everywhere this season. I love adding that edging on a cozy knit wrap. This large scale block color scarf is reversible (red, off white or blue) with a vegan fringe trim.

Great for travel so it gives you two looks in one. How cute would this be with belted over jeans for a tailgate? (Arkansas Razorback fans, the reversible red would be oh so cute to call the hogs in don’t you think?! As a girl from Arkansas I just had to give that shout out!)

All the looks above are from NIC+ZOE, my new favorite fashion line.

NIC+ZOE is designed by fashion designer and knitwear expert Dorian Lightbown. Over 10 years ago, she decided to create her own line of clothing and knitwear that is beautiful, comfortable and flattering for busy, confident women (like us!)

You can find NIC+ZOE right here on their website.

I was compensated by NIC+ZOE for this post but all opinions are my own.

What’s your favorite from the above list? What pieces are you adding to your fall wardrobe?
