7 days of stylish dresses for women over 40 (or how I’m going to NOT wear jeans for an entire week!)
I’m a blue jeans kind of girl. Whenever I actually wear a dress my daughter asks me if I have an important meeting. Not good.
That’s how addicted I am to denim.
So in an effort to shake things up, I’ve given myself a style challenge. I’m going to bust out of my routine and for 7 days straight I’m going to wear 7 dresses. No blue jeans allowed!
Here we go!
Style Challenge Day 1-Halogen Metro Print Shift Dress
I’d been looking for a shift style dress and loved the bold pattern of this dress when I saw it. The shape seems really modern and easy to wear. Love the ease and relaxed fit of this dress.
Halogen High Low Shift Dress from Nordstrom (and it’s 40% off now!)
It comes in regular, petite and plus sizes, and in this blue metro print, black and red geranium.
(I think that Custard my chihuahua approves too.)
It goes casual or dressy. (I’ve worn this to a cocktail party with heels and a long statement necklace and gotten lots of compliments.)
I can transition this to Fall by adding a relaxed blazer or moto style jacket and short booties. It’s a great dress for women over 40 because it’s flattering but not too “look at me” tight and can easily go dressy or casual.
The cork and glass cuff bracelet I’m wearing is by an amazing Los Angeles jewelry designer (and fellow divorced Mom) Mari Fuentes of ieculture. (You can purchase directly from her website and select the color of stone or glass you’d like to have your bracelet made with.)
I wear my cuff ALL the time and adore it! It’s my go to accessory.
Stay tuned for tomorrow for my Day 2 Dress.
xoxo-Rosie!
