A new way of treating dark spots, unevenness & hyperpigmentation.
I stumbled upon a great new anti-aging skincare solution, Rewind Skin Rejuvenating Serum, while surfing the interwebs one day and couldn’t wait to try it out. It’s from Alon Labs, a California based company in Silicon Valley.
I’ve had melasma and hyperpigmentation for years.
In case you aren’t familiar with melasma, it’s those oh so attractive patches of dark brown on your face. You might call it sun spots or age spots. Whatever you call it, it’s tough to get rid of.
(Info on melasma from the American Academy of Dermatology). Here’s a photo showing what it looks like.
My dark spots and Melasma (although not as severe as this example) have gotten worse over time, particularly on my cheeks and forehead.
I’ve used other skincare lines, but they just beat my skin up. The dark spots fade a tiny amount, but the harsh chemicals make my skin flaky and red. So basically I trade one problem for another.
I’ve been using this Rewind Skin Rejuvenating serum for about one month and am very impressed with how my skin looks. My skin seems much more even, and less red and ruddy on my cheek area. I’ve gotten lots of compliments from other women on how luminous and soft my skin looks. When other women comment on your skin; that’s always a good sign!
Here are a few pictures that I snapped of myself today. No filters, no professional lighting. Just a little makeup. I hadn’t realized how much the redness in my skin had gone down until I saw these photos. I’m really pleased.
And a closer up view. (Yikes, I’m brave, huh? Over 40 skin close up!) I still have some spots on my forehead, but a really nice change after only one month!
The Rewind serum was created by a plastic surgeon for his wife who suffered with dark spots and melasma. Once he saw how great her skin looked, he decided to share the serum with everyone else.
The reason I was so excited to try this serum is because Alon approaches the treatment of aging skin and hyper pigmentation in a totally new way. Other brands use glycolic acid or hydroquinone to remove pigmentation by peeling the skin. (And if you look up hydroquinone that’s a really scary ingredient with lots of side effects. Here’s a link to some of the possible dangers of using hydroquinone.)
Alon approaches the problem in a new way. Rather than peeling and irritating the skin, the Rewind serum irepairs the inflammation and DNA damage caused by UV rays. It helps the skin heal.
The serum’s active ingredients include Vitamin C and niacinamide (Vitamin B3), plus melatonin, a natural age fighting substance. I’d been reading research from other sources on the anti-aging benefits of melatonin. Rewind serum also contains botanicals like arnica and calendula which cuts down on inflammation and helps your skin retain moisture.
I didn’t peel or have any irritation from this product at all.
The serum’s ingredients are so fresh and potent that it’s shipped in two separate bottles, one a powder and one liquid that you mix together and shake before use.
They separate the ingredients to ensure that the Vitamin C and other ingredients remain potent. You are to use the bottle within 30 days.
The awesome people at Alon are offering my readers 50% off the serum by using the code “RARROSIE”.
I’m going to be starting on my second bottle soon. Can’t wait to finally get the remaining dark spots gone! I’ll post another update to see how my skin is looking and use these photos as a comparison.

I was sent a sample of the Rewind Serum to try but all views and opinions are completely my own.
